1. Information We Collect
We only collect the information necessary for Kouve to help you focus and manage your productivity. This includes:
Account Info: Your email address (if you sign in) and optional details like a nickname.
Focus & Usage Data: Information about your focus sessions, including session duration, apps/websites blocked, and progress toward your goals.
Device Permissions: To enable focus tracing, Kouve may request access to Screen Time (iOS) or Usage Access (Android). This data is used locally on your device to manage distractions and is not uploaded to our servers unless specifically required for cross-device syncing.
Technical Data: Basic device information to help us squash bugs and improve performance.
We do not collect your photos, contacts, precise GPS location, or the specific content of your messages/browsing history.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
Operate the App: Run focus sessions, track your productivity streaks, and save your progress.
Personalize Experience: Tailor focus recommendations and insights based on your usage patterns.
Manage Subscriptions: Verify your premium status through Apple or Google.
Support: Provide assistance if you reach out to our team.
We never sell your data or share it with advertisers.
3. Focus Tracing & App Privacy
Your focus data is your business. When you use Kouve to monitor or restrict certain apps, we do not "spy" on what you are doing inside those apps. We only track the time spent in them to help you stay within your limits and provide you with accurate productivity analytics.
4. Premium Subscriptions
Payments are handled securely by the App Store or Google Play. These platforms only share non-sensitive confirmation details with us so we can unlock your premium features. We never see or store your credit card information.
5. Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate user behavior (e.g., "What is the most popular focus duration?"). This data is anonymized and does not identify you personally. You can opt-out of analytics in the app settings at any time.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Firebase services. All communication between Kouve and our servers is encrypted. We use strict security protocols to ensure your focus data remains private and protected.
7. Your Rights
You are in control. At any time, you can:
Delete your account and all associated data.
Withdraw permissions for focus tracing via your device settings. Contact us at contact@arcticsgroup.com for any data requests.
8. Children
Kouve is intended for users who are at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes to how we handle your privacy, we will notify you via a notification in the Kouve app.
