This Privacy Policy explains how Globia, a geography-learning app, handles your data. Globia is published by Arctics Group (SASU, SIREN 930 474 473, registered in Paris, France), which acts as the data controller. We're committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data-protection laws.
2. What Data We Collect
We keep things minimal:
Usage data: Anonymized or aggregated stats like app downloads, usage patterns, and lesson progress, used to improve Globia. No personal details here.
Account data (Firebase Authentication): If you sign in, we use Firebase to securely manage your email address.
Learning data: Your progress in geography lessons (e.g., quiz scores, completed maps), stored to make the app work.
In the future, we might collect more (like your name or game preferences) to add new features. If that happens, we'll tell you and ask for your consent first.
3. Legal Basis and Consent
We process your data based on: your consent (for optional analytics and any future personal data), the performance of our contract with you (to provide the app and your subscription), and our legitimate interests (to keep Globia secure and improve it). 4. Sharing Your Data
We don't sell your personal data, and we only share it with service providers that help us run Globia:
Firebase (Google): Helps with sign-ins, analytics, and storing lesson progress, under GDPR-compliant terms.
App stores (Apple, Google): Process subscription payments under their own privacy policies.
If we add new partners later (e.g., for extra features), we'll tell you and make sure they meet our privacy standards. Some providers may process data outside the EU; where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. Keeping Your Data Safe
We use encryption (in transit and at rest) via Firebase, run regular security checks, and limit access so only team members who need it to run Globia can reach your data. We keep your data only as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law.
6. Cookies and Tracking
The Globia app uses Firebase Analytics to understand how you use it (e.g., which continents you're mastering). If we run a Globia website, it may use cookies for basic analytics — you can manage these in your browser settings.
7. Children and Globia
Globia is designed for general audiences, and we take extra care with younger users.
In France / EU: Under GDPR and French law, users under 15 need consent from a parent or legal guardian for us to process their personal data. We don't knowingly collect personal data from under-15s without that consent.
In the United States: In line with COPPA, we don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us data without your consent, email us and we'll delete it.
